Sailing Santa Monica Bay
Sailng Santa Monica Bay in a fully restored 44' hardin ketch is one of lifes great joys. The owner not only painted the entire exterior and interior of the boat but also replaced the two masts, all the sails, added a new stainless anchor pulpit, all new standing and runing rigging, new rigging stainless steel chain plates, all the wiring and plumbing, redesigned the aft owners head, replaced all the windows, added all new electronics and a new custom fiberglass steering pedestal, new autopilot, bew custom stainless cockpit dodger frame w. had top and twin solar cells, rebuilt the diesel engine and replaced the original diesel generator with a new generator.
And what a day! The winds were a steady 15 knots, the boats rail was in the water most of the time, and we were able to make over 8 knots!!
